The Diplomatic Academy qualifies employees of the Somali Ministry of Foreign Affairs
Within the framework of close cooperation between the Diplomatic Academy and the Somali Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Counselor Rashid bin Safar Al-Hajri, President of the Diplomatic Academy, concluded the implementation of a training program for the Ministry’s employees in international and diplomatic protocol and etiquette skills.
This initiative represents part of the agreement signed between the two sides last September, as 20 members from the Somali Ministry of Foreign Affairs benefited from the program in its first batch in this specialized training program in etiquette and international and diplomatic protocol, whose activities were held over a period of 3 days in the capital, Mogadishu.
This step comes within the framework of efforts to enhance the diplomatic capabilities and skills of cadres working in the diplomatic field of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in the Federal Republic of Somalia, and reflects the Diplomatic Academy’s commitment to supporting its development and training process.
At the conclusion of the program, the President of the Academy, Counselor Rashid bin Safar Al-Hajri, thanked the Somali Ministry of Foreign Affairs, represented by His Excellency the Minister of Foreign Affairs, His Excellency Mr. Hamzah Adam Haddo, Under-Secretary-General of the Ministry, and His Excellency Mr. Abdul Wali Hussein, Director of the Diplomatic Institute at the Somali Ministry of Foreign Affairs. He also thanked the Qatari Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Embassy of the State of Qatar. In Somalia, led by His Excellency Mr. Abdullah bin Hussein Al Nuaimi, Ambassador of the State of Qatar in Mogadishu, and Mr. Nasser bin Ali Al Kaabi, Chargé d'Affaires, for their efforts in facilitating the establishment of the program in the Republic of Somalia.
In this context, Counselor Al-Hajri praised the efforts made by the Embassy of the Republic of Somalia in Doha, represented by Her Excellency Ms. Ron Saeed, Chargé d’Affaires, and Ms. Mona Abdo Ali, which contributed to the remarkable success of this training program.
In his speech at the conclusion of the program at the headquarters of the Somali Ministry of Foreign Affairs, His Excellency Mr. Abdul Wali Hussein also expressed his gratitude to the Diplomatic Academy for this specific program that meets the Ministry’s need in terms of diplomatic qualification. He also thanked the Embassy of the State of Qatar in Somalia for their efforts and continued cooperation.
In conclusion, certificates of completion of the program were presented to the graduates by the Undersecretary-General of the Ministry and the Head of the Diplomatic Academy, accredited by the Diplomatic Academy and the Diplomatic Institute of the Somali Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
This achievement reflects the commitment of both parties to their cooperation and to benefit from Qatari expertise in professional development to raise the level of competence and skills of a qualified and distinguished generation of diplomats in the sisterly Republic of Somalia that contributes to the development of his country.
