The Diplomatic Academy, in partnership with the Community Service and Continuing Education Center at Qatar University, concluded the Official Spokesperson Skills Program, which lasted for five days from February 2 to 6, 2025

The Diplomatic Academy, in partnership with the Community Service and Continuing Education Center at Qatar University, concluded the Official Spokesperson Skills Program, which lasted for five days from February 2 to 6, 2025. The program was presented by Counselor Rashid Al-Hajri with qualitative participation from the State of Qatar, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and the Kingdom of Morocco.

The program included enhancing the skills of trainees in the principles and techniques of official speaking, presenting effective, dynamic and convincing presentations, developing their skills in dealing with crises, how to present business achievements in an appropriate manner, developing skills in preparing and presenting written and audio presentations, as well as skills in influencing and interacting with the public and improving the mental image of institutions. This training course also addressed interview tools with all media outlets, methods of preparing for interviews and press releases and delivering them.

The students were also informed about the personal qualities of the official spokesperson and his tasks, the tools of his success, communication messages, types of audiences and dealing with them, attendance and mental preparation and his role during crises and press conferences, delivering press releases, and skills in responding to critical questions.
The participants were able to identify the mission and functions of the official spokesperson, the ability to express the institution and what it represents, deal professionally in dialogues and speaking, know the basics of interviews and their methods, the ability to formulate press releases, deal with crises, use body language in public speaking, know how to employ media tools to serve the institution’s goals, and the ability to overcome critical situations and questions. At the end of the program, trainees receive a certificate of completion of a training course accredited by the Diplomatic Academy and Qatar University, and a training bag that includes the scientific material for the program.
